Jammu, February 24

Hardeep Kour Bali, who is a gold medalist in postgraduate diploma in journalism and mass communication from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Jammu centre, has said professional and job-oriented courses were the need of the hour in today’s cut-throat competition.

Hardeep, who is from Jammu, was conferred the gold medal for her meritorious performance at the 33rd convocation at the IGNOU headquarters in New Delhi on February 17.

A total of 10,533 students from the Regional Centre, Jammu, were declared successful and eligible to receive diplomas and degree certificates at the function.

“Gone are the days when the traditional courses were the only options available. There is no dearth of professional, job and skill-oriented courses but there is need for awareness and guidance for students,” said Hardeep.

Hardeep has been working as a senior content writer in Jammu for the last five years.
