The Srinagar Police late on Monday night registered FIRs against a section of the students of two top local medical colleges after their videos celebrating Pakistan’s victory over India in Sunday’s T 20 World Cup match went viral.

Top sources in the J&K Police confirmed the registration of two FIRs in the matter — under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and relevant IPC sections.

Police sources said FIRs have been registered against hostel wardens, management and students of the Srinagar Government Medical College and the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences spotted in the celebratory videos that have gone viral on social media platforms.
