Pakistan violates ceasefire in Poonch

After a lull of one day, Pakistani army violated the ceasefire agreement in Balakot and Mendhar sectors about 7 pm on Sunday.

Sources said they targeted the Indian Army’s forward locations and civil areas in Balakot, Lanjyot and Goldh villages.“Nearly 20 to 25 mortar shells fired by the Pakistan army landed in forward areas and in Lanjyot and Goldh villages. As everybody was inside their homes due to chilly weather, no injury was reported,” said Lamberdar of Balakot village.A few mortar shells landed near the house of Muzzafar Khan of Lanjyot village. The family had a narrow escape as splinters hit the house. “Had the family members been out of the house, they would have been injured,” said Lamberdar.
