Pak ultra shot in Poonch

Jammu, November 26

The Indian Army has foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district and has killed a Pakistani terrorist, a defence spokesperson said on Friday.

Alert Indian Army detected the infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in a forward area of Bhimber Gali on late Thursday night, the spokesperson said.

The Army foiled the infiltration bid and eliminated a Pakistani terrorist, he said.

The body of the killed terrorist along with weapons and ammunition has been recovered, the spokesperson said. An operation was under way, said the defence spokesperson. — PTI 

Police destroy 24 kg RDX, grenades

• The J&K Police on Friday destroyed 24 kg of RDX and 71 hand grenades
• Were seized during counter-terror ops in Reasi in 12 yrs
• Sensing threat of accidental explosions, the police had approached courts for lawful safe destruction of the explosives
• Since 2009, special operations group had seized the arms in 15 militancy cases
• The Reasi SSP constituted a special team for destruction of the explosives
• A team of experts took the explosives to a safe place and destroyed them following due protocol
