Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that rapid and inclusive development of the UT has been the top priority of Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014.

“He (PM) has dedicated every moment to restore rights of people who have been living on the margins for decades and ushered a new era of peace, prosperity and hope,” the L-G said during an introductory address at the PM’s rally at Srinagar.

“Today, the crown jewel of the country is shining with new glory. PM has ensured that fruits of development reach all sections of society and opportunities of growth, justice and dignity are equally available to all the citizens,” the L-G said.

Sinha said the PM is building ‘Khushhaal’ J&K, providing a new momentum to infrastructure development to shape UT’s economic trajectory and has linked the aspirations of J&K with the aspirations of the country.

“PM has put Nari Shakti at the forefront of J&K’s development journey. The rights of women have been restored, new entrepreneur schemes are making them financially independent and providing Nari Shakti a life of dignity,” the L-G said during his address.

He said that every citizen of J&K has got the opportunity to live life as per their wish. “Youth are being provided with opportunities to harness their full potential and they are driving socio-economic development. The dreams of every citizen of J&K have got new wings and their wings have got an infinite sky of opportunities,” he stated.

The L-G said under the leadership of PM, Z-Morh tunnel worth more than Rs 2,378 crore will be completed by June this year. “Work on the Zojila tunnel project worth Rs 4,500 crore is going on which will provide round the year connectivity to Sonamarg. Phase-I of Srinagar Ring Road at a cost of Rs 2,920 crore will be completed in the month of August,” the L-G said.

He also talked about many other projects which are underway and will be completed in coming months.
