Kashmiri Pandits feel more secure now: Government

The government on Wednesday asserted Kashmiri Pandits felt “more secure” than before. Responding to a question in the Rajya Sabha Minister, Minister of State (MoS) for Home Nityanand Rai said, “As per the report of the Relief Office set up in 1990, 44,167 registered Kashmiri migrant families had to move out of the Valley in view of security concerns.” “Kashmiri Pandits feel more secure now as is evident from the fact that 3,841 migrant youths have moved back to the Valley and have taken up jobs in various districts under the Prime Minister”s rehabilitation package,” the minister said. He said migrant families were getting all benefits of government schemes just like others in Kashmir. TNS
