J&K records 146 new Covid cases

Srinagar/Leh, July 18

J&K recorded 146 fresh Covid cases and one death on Sunday, taking the number of infections and fatalities to 3,19,901 and 4,364, respectively, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 58 were from Jammu and 88 from Kashmir. Srinagar district recorded the highest number of cases at 27, followed by 16 in Jammu.

The active cases have dropped to 1,919 in the UT, while 3,13,618 patients have recovered from the infection so far

Ladakh recorded six new Covid cases that took the infection tally to 20,246. Eight people were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the infection, taking the overall recoveries to 19,937.

While three Covid patients were discharged in Leh, five were discharged in Kargil. Of the new cases, five were reported from Leh, and one from Kargil, officials said. No Covid-related death has been recorded in the past 24 hours, officials said.

The death toll currently stands at 206, with the worst-hit Leh accounting for 148 fatalities and 58 fatalities registered in Kargil, they said. — PTI
