Jammu and Kashmir witnesses 19 deaths, highest in day; toll 914

With 1,329 new Covid cases, 741 from the Jammu division and 588 from the Kashmir valley, in the past 24 hours, the caseload in J&K reached 56,654.

Meanwhile, the UT recorded a single-day highest of 19 deaths, 14 in the Jammu province and five in the Kashmir valley, during the same period, taking the toll to 914.

A total of 681 more patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, 214 from the Jammu division and 467 from the Valley.

According to the official bulletin issued on Tuesday evening, out of the 56,654 positive cases, 18,678 were active positive, 37,062 had recovered and 914 had died, 174 in the Jammu division and 740 in the Kashmir province.

The bulletin said out of the 12,70,310 test results available, 12,13,656 samples had tested negative.

Till date 5,27,802 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases had been enlisted for observation, out of whom 4,13,382 persons had completed their surveillance period.
