Financial aid sought for drivers

The J&K Apni Party has urged Lt-Governor Manoj Sinha to announce a special financial package for drivers and conductors in the transport sector of J&K.

“Auto and taxi drivers are among the worst sufferers due to the Covid pandemic. They are not able to do their jobs as the transport business has witnessed decline for the past seven months and there is no hope in the near future about the revival of normal business activities,” said Manjit Singh, provincial president, Apni Party, Jammu. He was speaking before a delegation of auto and taxi drivers’ representatives who called on him in Jammu. The delegation highlighted various issues being faced by the drivers in the ongoing situation.
