District Speedball meet

Around 200 players from different schools in Jammu district participated on Sunday in the Jammu District Speedball Championship at Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, here. The championship was organised by the J&K Sports Speedball Association. The participating schools in the event included Dogra Higher Secondary School, SD Tara Puri School, BN Public Higher Secondary School, ASN School, Banyan International School, Birla Open Minds International School, Air Force School, Nanda Sports Club, Little Pearls Play Way School, Jammu Sanskriti School and British International School.

BSF School holds farewell party

BSF School, Jammu, organised a farewell party for the outgoing students of Class XII. Principal Dr SK Shukla was the chief guest and Aruna Shukla was the guest of honour. The official farewell was organised by Class XI students who gave their best wishes to their seniors. A special cultural programme was organised on the occasion. Class XI students presented foot-tapping dance and soulful songs. They also gave beautiful gifts as a token of love to the students of Class XII. Highlight of the occasion was Mr and Miss BSF School. Tanisha Singh was declared as Ms BSF and Akhil Koul was selected as Mr BSF.

Annual sports day function

Army Public School (APS), Kaluchak, celebrated its annual sports day. The prize distribution ceremony was also held. The theme of the annual sports day was "Udaan". Students of the school participated in different activities to mark the occasion. An astounding visual treat was presented in the form of Bhartiyam, wherein more than 250 students dressed in colourful attires, staged the musical act. The school choir enthralled the audience with the soulful rendition of music. The annual school report was read by principal Hem Lata Vishen highlighting the achievements of students.

Entrepreneurship programme

Government MAM College, Jammu, in collaboration with the Ministry of Small-Scale Industries, Meerut, and Institute of Management and Finance, Jammu, organised an Entrepreneurship Development Programme. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal, Prof (Dr) GS Rakhwal. He emphasised on the need of such development programmes, which would benefit the students for their self-sustenance in future. The welcome address was presented by Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul, head of the department of physics and coordinator of internal quality assurance cell (IQAC).
