Srinagar, September 9

At a time when people are scared to go to hospitals amid the Covid threat, a charitable Trust has started “Dial a doctor”— a free tele-consultation service for the people in the Valley. Around 300 doctors/specialists from across the globe will be available for consultations 24 hours a day and offer services for patients ranging from Covid positive ones to others having mental health issues.

“Dial a doctor service is available 24x7. There is a toll free number (18008892729). There are 300 doctors across the globe and local doctors are there too. Infact, the response from local doctors has been very good. They have a busy schedule and at the same time, they are supporting us,” said Syed Tabasum Geelani, Trustee of the ‘Ehsaas Trust International’.

He said the service had mainly been started by Kashmiri doctors working in foreign countries with an aim to help people back home. He said mental health specialists were also available even as cases mental health were on a rise during the pandemic.

“We have mental health specialists and doctors from all specialities. This is something like running a super speciality hospital virtually,” he said. — TNS
