Jammu, September 23

The Team Jammu has formally released an audio-video album, “A tribute to Maharaja Hari Singh”, highlighting the life and working of the great visionary and last Dogra ruler of J&K during a function organised at its headquarters here today.

The album song has been sung by renowned singer Rakesh Slathia, written by noted Dogri poet Randheer Singh Raipuria, composed by Sahil Lucky and edited by Akash Dogra.

The album contains mesmerising music highlighting social reforms introduced by late Maharaja Hari Singh from 1930 onwards.

Interacting with volunteers and artistes, chairman, Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, who formally released the album, paid rich tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh and came down heavily on the government for not declaring September 23 a holiday.

“For the last 70 years, political parties have been exploiting sentiments of the people of the Jammu region in the name of Maharaja Hari Singh but after getting power these political parties always indulge into gagging voice of the people and finally they stand exposed,” Jamwal said and regretted that instead of taking a tough stand on the issue of declaring state holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, political leaders were brazenly indulging into bargaining.

“Our patience is running out. People of Jammu will not tolerate such a stand of the government by not declaring September 23 as holiday. Why political leaders who claims to be championing the cause of the Jammu region and Dogras are silent. They all must clear their stand before the public,” Jamwal said and warned of an agitation.
