3,733 fresh Covid cases, 51 deaths in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded 3,733 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to 1,87,219, even as 51 fatalities over the past 24 hours took the death toll to 2,421, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 1,294 were from the Jammu division and 2,439 from the Kashmir division of the UT, they said.

The officials said Srinagar district recorded the highest of 1,136 cases, followed by 584 in Jammu district and 296 in Pulwama district.

The number of active cases has reached 34,567 in the Union Territory, while 1,50,231 patients have recovered so far, the officials said. The death toll in the Union Territory due to the pandemic rose to 2,421 as 51 fresh deaths — 35 in the Jammu region and 16 in the Valley — were reported in the past 24 hours. — PTI
