Congress leader Rahul Gandhi greeted a group of protesters with flying kisses when they were sloganeering in front of his vehicle during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, in Jamiguri Ghat of Assam.

After noticing the protesters, Rahul Gandhi got down from his modified bus and went into the crowd.

Later, he returned back to his bus and greeted them with ‘flying kisses’.

“Some BJP workers carrying flags came in front of our vehicle and raised slogans. But I want to tell them that the Congress is not scared of BJP-RSS. They can tear our posters and flags, they can create hurdles but they cannot change our ideology, we don't fear to anybody”, Rahul Gandhi said while addressing a gathering.

“Kya samajh rakha hai inn logon ne, hum kisi se darte nahi hai”, he said in Hindi.

Earlier, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh had alleged that his vehicle was attacked.

“My vehicle was attacked a few minutes ago at Jumugurihat, Sunitpur (Assam) by an unruly BJP crowd who also tore off the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra stickers from the windshield. They threw water and shouted anti-BJNY slogans. But we kept our composure, waved to the hooligans and sped away”, he wrote on his X account.

“This is undoubtedly the Assam CM @himantabiswa’s doing. We are not intimidated and will soldier on”, he added.

Later, Congress leader KC Venugopal also alleged complete lawlessness at display in Assam. All along the Yatra route, the CM has stationed his goons to attack the Yatra and disrupt our peaceful march for justice.

“He’s completely mistaken to think this will deter us. If anything, this has given us more strength to ensure his and Narendra Modi’s defeat”, Venugopal wrote on X, without naming Assam Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma.
