New Delhi, April 4

Gourav Vallabh, a spokesperson of the Congress for ten years, on Thursday joined the BJP saying he does not have the capacity to abuse Sanatan Dharma, wealth creators and disregard of Ram Mandir invitation.

Joining in the presence of BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde, Vallabh said he had resigned from the Congress after chronic differences over key issues.

“How can the Congress remain silent on abuses of Sanatan Dharma, on matters of faith? INDIA bloc allies abused Sanatan Dharma and Congress remained silent. How can you remain silent on matters of faith? I don’t have the capacity to abuse my religion, wealth creators day and night,” Vallabh said.

He said in his long career as Congress spokesperson, he never attacked individuals.

“I had joined the Congress hoping for respect for intellectual integrity but I was wrong. People with integrity are being sidelined. Today I’ve decided to join the BJP which I feel is a party where I can contribute to taking India forward. I am happy to associate with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat,” said Vallabh.

Earlier today, he sent his resignation to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

In the letter he said Congress was directionless.
