New Delhi, February 16

The Congress today condemned the police action against farmers who are pressing the government to fulfil its promise of giving legal status to MSP for crops.

At a press meet here today, All-India Kisan Congress chairman Sukhpal Singh Khaira said the Congress government would provide legal guarantee for MSP as had been demanded by the farmers. Khaira demanded the Centre should consider their legitimate demands. Moreover, he pointed out, these were the same demands, which had already been accepted by the government when the farmers withdrew their protest two years ago from the outskirts of Delhi.
