History being moulded...

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior hit the screens a while back and it has been having a good run in theatres. The period drama is based on the heroic contribution of Tanaji Malusare in the army of Maharaj Chattrapati Shivaji. Starring Ajay Devgn in the lead and Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist, the film landed into controversy for showing altered politics. As the film is based on true events, the revamped politics did not go well with the audience, which labelled the film as ‘Islamophobic’.

Addressing the issue, Saif Ali Khan, in a recent media interaction, stated that he was aware of the alterations made. He accepted that history has been revamped, but did not take a stand! Further, Saif said that he wishes to be a part of an industry that takes a stand and not make mass films the way they do now. The actor wishes to do films that narrate the history instead of moulding it into what people would like to see.
