Chairman of the State Finance Commission Satpal Singh Satti today laid the foundation stones of various development works in Santoshgarh nagar panchayat as part of the BJP’s mahasampark campaign in Una Assembly segment.
Satti laid stones of two overhead tanks, each with a capacity of 3.5 lakh liters of water and an additional building block in government primary school, Santoshgarh.
Speaking on the occasion, he said sewerage system was being laid in the nagar panchayat area at a cost of Rs 22 crores. Besides, he said the Una to Santoshgarh road was being improved at a cost of Rs 12 crores.
Earlier Satti dedicated to the public a drinking water scheme in ward number 10 of Una city on which a sum of Rs 45 crores has been spent. Speaking about the Una Assembly segment, Satti said development works estimated at about Rs 1,500 crores were currently underway in the segment.
Satti informed that a PGI satellite hospital will come up in Malahat village near Una city at a cost of Rs 450 crores, while work on the Rs 20 crores Mother and Child Care Hospital, adjoining the district hospital, is nearing completion.
Satti informed the gathering that a health camp was being organised by the Health department on April 16 at old bus stand in Una where 30 specialist doctors will be available and provide free medicines to the patients.
Satti honoured local resident Dilip Doji, who recently won medals in an international bodybuilding event organized in Singapore.
He said a new multi-storey building of the Una district Secretariat is almost complete and the Rs 22 crores water drainage system for Una city will also be completed before the onset of the monsoons.
