NURPUR, OCTOBER 15

A woman (60), hailing from a nearby village, has alleged that she was raped last evening while on her way home with fodder from fields. As per the police information, the victim, in her statement in the court on Thursday, alleged that three accused — Joginder Singh, Nitin Kumar and Sanju — of the same village stopped her on the way and thrashed her. She alleged that she was also raped by the accused.

The Nurpur police have conducted medical examination of the victim in which possibility of rape had not been ruled out whereas the forensic examination report would confirm the accusation.

Nurpur Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ashok Rattan said following the complaint, a case under Sections 341, 323, 147, 149 and 376 of the IPC had been registered against the trio and thorough investigations had started. He said the accused had also an old dispute with the complainant.
