With 10 new cases in Una, HP tally past 200

Even as arrangements are being put in place to receive people coming by air and rail, 18 new corona cases were reported in the state today, taking the tally of positive cases to 203.

The maximum number of 10 cases was reported from Una district, with majority being those who have returned from outside the state. Cases from Chamba, Kangra, Hamirpur, Mandi and Solan were also reported.

Three of family infected

Una: Ten new Corona positive cases have been reported from Una district during the last 24 hours, all from Bangana subdivision. The persons had recently entered Una district from other parts of the country and are in institutional quarantine.

Three of a family — a mother and her two sons — were found to be infected with coronavirus this morning. The infected woman’s brother-in-law, who had also returned along with the family from Mumbai in a taxi on May 17, also tested positive.

The family, which returned from Mumbai, is institutionally quarantined in a government guest house in Una and the premises has been sealed to prevent of the infection.

Bengal returnee +ve

Solan: A 43-year-old man, who returned from West Bengal on May 19, tested positive for corona infection in Nalagarh late last evening, taking the tally in Solan district to 20. He hails from Khobla village and had been in institutional quarantine at Ramshehar since his return. He had been shifted to the ESIC Covid hospital, Katha, at Barotiwala.

Mumbai returnee

Mandi:A 19-year-old girl was found Covid-19 positive today at Nerchowk medical college Mandi. She belongs to Dharampur in Mandi.

She had arrived here a few days ago from Mumbai along with her parents. She was kept in institutional quarantine at Sandhol along with her parents.

Kangra tally 50

Dharamsala: One more tested positive in Kangra, taking the total numbers of corona positive patients in the district to 50, including 36 active patients. A 24-year-old man from Panchrukhi near Palampur, who had come back from Delhi and was in institutional quarantine in Baijnath, tested positive.
