Why IPH Minister not back to work, asks Agnihotri

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today said the rising infection among Covid warriors was a cause for concern and the matter was likely to be placed before the Cabinet.

Thakur was replying to the issue raised by Leader of the Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri that despite 14-day quarantine, Irrigation and Public Health (IPH) Minister Mahender Singh, who had tested Covid positive, had not returned to work.

“The IPH Minister, after staying in hospital for some time, stayed in home isolation but even after 14 days his Covid report is inconclusive. We want to know the reason why he is not returning to work,” said Agnihotri.

Thakur said the IPH Minister, after developing Covid symptoms, was shifted to the hospital and it was on his own request that he was allowed to return to home isolation. “The minister is feeling all right and is expected to return to work shortly. He has been in isolation for 12 days. Moreover, even the ICMR has stated that any Covid patient can be sent to home isolation even without him having tested negative,” he said. — TNS
