A webinar on “Career Opportunities in Sciences” was organised by School of Physics and Materials Science, Shoolini University, for the faculty and science students of Government Degree College Dhaliara, Kangra. Over 150 faculty members and students participated.

HPU cancels papers

The HPU has cancelled the paper of MSc Botany, fourth semester, conducted on September 17 due to administrative reasons. Another paper cancelled for the same reason is MSc Zoology, conducted on September 19. The two papers will now be held on November 9 and 10, respectively, from 2 to 5 pm. Meanwhile, the MCom paper of Marketing Management for second semester will be held on November 9. It was initially scheduled for October 20.

Parents oppose decision on fees

The Student-Parent Forum has called the government’s decision to allow private schools and institutions to charge full fee “shameful”. It demanded that the decision be rolled back. Forum convener Vijender Mehra said schools had started harassing parents by sending them messages asking for full fee. Mehra claimed that parents were being threatened that if they did not pay full fee, their wards would be expelled or barred from appearing in exams. Mehra said schools did not open for a single day and hence schools did not have to incur several operational costs.

Bhatt is NSUI gen secy

Yasin Bhatt, hailing from Chamba’s Churah, has been appointed general secretary of the NSUI. Thanking the NSUI state president and other officials, Bhatt said he would do his best to carry out the responsibilities the organisation had given him.
