A team of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday arrested a Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) and a middleman from Bagha hotel at Darlaghat in Solan district.

Rs 5,68,500 in cash collected from the vehicle owners was also seized.

The duo were partying at the hotel and counting the cash when the Bureau team arrested them.

The Bureau's special intelligence unit from Shimla and Solan planned the raid where he was nabbed and the cash seized.

Commercial vehicles like trucks and buses are supposed to seek an NOC annually from the MVI.

Two cars which belonged to the duo were also searched.

The duo has been arrested after registration of a case under Sections 7 and 7-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
