Two killed in truck mishap at Darcha

Two persons were killed in a road accident at Darcha on the Manali-Leh highway in Lahaul Spiti district today when the truck (HP 28B-6069) they were travelling in skidded off the road. The deceased were identified as driver Kanshi Ram and helper Abhishek Chaudhary, both natives of Mandi district.

According to the police, two persons were travelling in the vehicle when the accident happened. Both were found dead on the spot. The bodies have been taken to the district hospital in Keylong for the post-mortem after which the bodies will be handed over to the families of the deceased.

Confirming the report, SP Lahaul Spiti Manav Verma said a case had been registered and investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident.
