Tree posing threat to commuters on Shimla’s Cart Road axed; traffic remains affected

The Cart Road, lifeline of Shimla city, was blocked for vehicular traffic between the Lift and old Bus Stand as a precautionary measure today evening after the retaining wall of the road leading to Ganj market developed cracks.

The tree, which was bending towards the Cart Road posing risk to the wall, was cut off by the civic authorities to avoid any untoward incident.

The traffic was diverted via Khalini-Tutikandi bypass road.
