Traffic hit on Chandigarh-Manali national highway

Flash floods due to heavy rain washed away three houses and two cow sheds at Noni village in Bilaspur today. It caused blockage on the Chandigarh-Manali highway that interrupted traffic and left hundreds of vehicles stranded for hours.

Ram Lal, whose house was damaged, said people had informed the PWD repeatedly to remove the blocked culvert but it had ignored them. He said muddy water entered the houses instead of flowing into the culvert on the road.

The house of Rajesh Kumar was also damaged while some houses also had cracks. Two cow sheds were also damaged in the village.
