Mandi, January 13

In the wake of Covid outbreak, the Karsog administration today removed temporary stalls set up along the ghats at Tattapani.

Every year, a large number of devotees turn up on the ghats to take a holy dip on Makar Sankranti. Due to a surge in Covid cases, the government has imposed a ban on gatherings in temples and other religious places.

A few shopkeepers had set up temporary stalls at Tattapani for Makar Sankranti.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Karsog Sunny Sharma sent a team to the spot to review the situation and directed the police to remove these temporary stalls.

Sunny Sharma said: “All temporary stalls have been removed from the vicinity of the ghats. The people have been urged to refrain from gathering at the ghats to take holy dip.”

“A flying squad has been constituted to keep a close watch on the congregation of people. Appropriate action will be taken against the violators in the area,” he added.
