Elected representatives of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) have extended their support to the protesting Zila Parishad employees in Fatehpur, Indora and Nagrota Surian blocks in Kangra district. The employees have been demanding benefits under the Sixth Pay Commission.

They have been demanding their merger with the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department as they say finance officials have denied them benefits of the Sixth Pay Commission only because of the Zila Parishad tag they carry.
