State govt appoints special duty officer to monitor spread of coronavirus

The state government on Sunday appointed—2002-batch Himachal Administrative Services Officer—Shubh Karan Singh as Officer on Special Duty for the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial belt for effective coordination.

He will serve as a nodal officer for coordination, supervision, monitoring and reporting of measures pertaining to COVID-19.

He will also liaise with the religious head, industrial establishments, NGOs, various unions, etc, for undertaking prevention, control and mitigation measures, according to a notification issued on Sunday.

With COVID-19 emerging, the step has been necessitated to ensure effective coordination.

As many as, 3 Tablighi attendees have been tested positive for COVID-19, while 5 other Delhi residents, who were declared positive have shifted to Gurgaon from the area.
