Slippery Shimla roads risky for driving

Show comments

Even as the circular roads were cleared for traffic a day after snowfall, the road to the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) and Hospital from Sanjauli had a thick layer of ice on it, making it slippery for both pedestrians as well as vehicle drivers. Patients, who had to reach the hospital early, faced much inconvenience. Authorities must take note and clear this path of snow at the earliest as emergency vehicles ply on it. — Shubham, Shimla

Supply of essentials hit

The supply of essential commodities, such as milk and eggs, got delayed in lower Kaithu areas as roads were slippery after snowfall and it was risky to drive on these routes. Some areas went entirely without supplies while in others, the commodities reached by afternoon. The municipal corporation (MC) should put sand and salt on slippery stretches of the link roads to make driving safer. — Anu, Lower Kaithu
