Samples of dead crows found -ve in Mandi district

The samples of 12 dead crows were found negative for the bird flu infection in Mandi district today, giving a sigh of relief to the Forest Department.

The crows were found dead at Sanyardi, a few kilometres from the town three days ago, which alerted the department in the district.

SS Kashyap, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Mandi, said the samples had been sent to the Regional Disease Diagnostic Lab, Jalandhar.

He said till date, no bird flu case was detected in Mandi district and the department was keeping a close watch over it.

The DFO urged the people to inform the department or call 1077 if they notice any dead bird.
