Russian, Nepalese held for drug peddling

The police arrested two persons for possessing charas in Kullu district yesterday. The accused were identified as Ignatev Viachestav of Russia and Chhutum Lama of Nepal.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Gaurav Singh said that barriers were set up at Bajoura by a team of the Bhuntar police. The Russian was travelling from Kullu to Delhi in a Volvo bus. A search was conducted and 1.263 kg charas was recovered from Viachestav.

Another accused Chhutum Lama was nabbed near Jari with 1.25 kg charas by a police team.

The SP stated that both accused were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and investigation was going on.
