Rs 758-cr budget approved for MGNREGA works

A Rs 758-crore budget for various schemes for the current financial year was approved at a special meeting of the zila prashid here today.

Zila parishad chairperson Dharam Singh Pathania said that the budget was sanctioned for the execution of 39,076 works related to MGNREGA in 283 panchayats of the district.

Various schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission were also approved, Pathania said.

Besides, various schemes and a labour budget were also approved for the annual plan under MGNREGA.

Pathania said Rs 19 crore was sanctioned for 108 schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Through these schemes, clean drinking water would be provided to 25,732 houses of 1,104 villages in the district. — OC
