Rope in CSR staff to check Covid spread, says minister

Himachal Industries Minister Bikram Singh directed the Deputy Commissioner of Chamba to take assistance of staff and ambulances of the hydropower projects under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) while taking steps to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the district.

The minister said this while presiding over a meeting of officers here today. He told the officials that people should be made aware of the protocol of Covid-19 regularly and ensure its compliance.

To make Him Suraksha Abhiyan a success, teams of 600 health workers had been formed in the district, the minister said, adding that each team consisted of two members each, who were preparing a database of about 5.8 lakh population of the district. SP Arul Kumar said 2,600 persons, who had been found without face masks and violating social distancing norm, had been challaned in the district.
