The barrier on Manali-Rohtang road at Gulaba has been shifted to Kothi after the road witnessed snowfall yesterday. Kullu Additional District Magistrate Ashwani Kumar said that due to heavy snowfall and adverse weather, the movement of vehicles beyond Kothi towards Rohtang Pass would be halted till further orders.

In the wake of inclement weather, the administration had barred the movement of vehicles towards Rohtang Pass, a major tourist attraction, from November 27 last year and the barrier was shifted from Marhi to Gulaba.

Usually, the movement of vehicles to Rohtang Pass is officially closed from November 15 every year. However, last year the weather permitted the movement of vehicles till November 26 and a large number of tourists visited the Pass till then.
