  • Many senior IAS and IPS officers, including retired chief secretaries and DGP-rank officers, have applied for the post of Member in the Information Commission. Intense lobbying is being done by some of these officers.

  • Similarly, at least 24 retired bureaucrats and academicians have applied for the post of Chairman and Member in the HP Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority.

The Selection Committee for making appointments to the HP Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority met here last month, but no final decision could be taken even as some of the academicians seem to be lobbying hard to get an appointment in the commission. The meeting is now likely to take place later to finalise the names.

At least 24 retired bureaucrats and academicians have applied for the post of Chairman and Member in the HP Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority. These posts have fallen vacant following the completion of the tenure of KK Katoch as Chairman and SP Katyal as Member.

Many senior IAS and IPS officers, including retired chief secretaries and DGP-rank officers, have applied for the post of Member in the Information Commission. Intense lobbying is being done by some of these officers.

The Cabinet, at its last meeting, had given nod for setting up the State Food Commission, which would soon be notified.

Even though the approval was given last week, several contenders, mostly retired bureaucrats, are already lined up to get a posting here.

Two posts of Member are also lying vacant in the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. These fell vacant on the completion of the tenure of Mohan Chauhan and Man Singh. However, these two posts are yet to be advertised.
