Redress public grievances on priority, revenue officers told

Kullu Deputy Commissioner Ashutosh Garg told the officers that public grievances should be redressed on priority. While presiding over a meeting with revenue officers of the district here, he said people of remote villages could not make rounds of offices to get their problems resolved and such approach should also not be allowed to flourish in the society.

The DC said ‘intkaal’ matters should be resolved within six months. He said at present, there are 591 pending demarcation cases and these should be resolved soon. He directed the revenue officials to accept online applications and settle them immediately. The DC also said the cases of “Khangi Taqseem” (mutual partition) should also be settled soon.

The DC said sub judice revenue cases should be taken seriously and the e-district portal should be updated and monitored frequently. He said: “Revenue officers need to be sensitive and alert regarding every matter related to them so that better services are available to people and their work gets completed without any delay.”

The officer said the officials should form a Red Cross Committees at sub-divisional level and ensure collection of funds and deposit its 50 per cent to the District Red Cross Society. He directed the District Revenue Officer to provide furniture for the newly opened Nirmand SDM office, Sub-Tehsil Jari, and a new tehsil building in Kullu.

Garg said an amount of Rs 12 lakh had been approved for new patwar buildings. He said persons from whom recovery was to be made in the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi, should be done soon. He asked the SDMs concerned to remove illegal encroachments in any part of the district immediately.

Besides, the DC discussed in detail all matters related to the domain of revenue officers and also issued necessary instructions.
