Mandi, October 10

All-India Congress Committee general secretary and Congress in-charge for Himachal Rajeev Shukla has targeted the BJP over inflation and unemployment.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Shukla said, “During the BJP regime, the inflation has increased manifold. The prices of petrol and diesel have crossed Rs 100 per litre, while the price of mustard oil is above Rs 200. Apart from this, the price of an LPG cylinder has reached Rs 1,000, which is affecting the life of a common man.”

“Ajay Mishra, son of Union Minister, was accused of crushing the protesting farmers by speeding vehicles in Lakhimpur in Uttar Pradesh a few days ago but the UP Government did not arrest the accused until the intervention of the Supreme Court. Instead of sacking the Union Minister, the BJP leadership at the Centre is trying to defend the minister and his son. It shows that the BJP is misusing its power,” he said.

In reply to a query, Shukla said “The Congress will corner the BJP on inflation, unemployment, corruption and farmer issues. It will work with full force to win all four seats in Himachal.” — TNS
