Himachal Congress chief Pratibha Singh lays stones of projects in Nachan

Free healthcare for those over 70 under Sukh Arogya Yojana

State Congress president Pratibha Singh laid the foundation stones of the HP State Electricity Board building at Jayadevi and a Harijan Basti at Bhalanadhar in the Nachan Assembly constituency of Mandi district yesterday.

Pratibha offered prayers at Mata Bhadrakali Temple, Bharari, and later heard the grievances of people present at the rest house at Kothain. She instructed the departments concerned to dispose of the complaints.

The MP was the chief guest at the annual prize distribution ceremony of Government Senior Secondary School at Jayadevi and gave away prizes to the students. She congratulated the winners and wished them a bright future.

Pratibha said that the state government had provided every possible help to people at the time of the rain disaster. “The Budget of the state government for 2024-2025 is for building a bright future keeping in mind the development of all sections of society. Self-employment opportunities under the Rajiv Gandhi Start-up Scheme and a new start-up policy will boost youth’s development. Special attention has been given to farmers. The minimum support price (MSP) of milk has been increased while an MSP of Rs 40 per kg for naturally-grown wheat and Rs 30 per kg for maize have been announced. These decisions will benefit farmers,” she added.

She said, “The decisions to increase the daily wages under MGNREGA by Rs 60 to Rs 300, announcement to provide up to Rs 3 lakh to MGNREGA workers for building houses, increased honorarium of outsourced workers to Rs 12,000, and the Mukh Mantri Sukh Arogya Yojana for the elderly will benefit common people. The Sukh Arogya Yojana will provide free medical facilities to all people over 70 years of age, who are not paying income tax.”
