PM dedicates four SJVN power stations to nation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually dedicated SJVN's four power stations - 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station in Uttarakhand, 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Station, 75 MW Gurhah Solar Power Station and 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Station in Uttar Pradesh - during a ceremony at Adilabad, Telangana today.

The Prime Minister also laid the laid the foundation stone of three SJVN projects, namely 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project, 15 MW Nangal Floating Solar Power Project and 70 MW Solar Project in Assam.

Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister, SJVN chairperson Geeta Kapur hailed Modi for his vision to provide uninterrupted, reliable and affordable supply of power to all. On the occasion, she reaffirmed SJVN's dedication to realize Modi's vision of achieving 500 GW installed capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources by 2030. She also extended gratitude to Union Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy RK Singh and the state governments for entrusting SJVN for execution of these power projects.

A SJVN spokesperson said these hydro and solar power projects would contribute to the nation's goal of achieving net zero carbon emission economy by 2070. The seven projects, totalling 727 MW in capacity, have an investment cost of Rs 5,515 crores. They are expected to generate 2,255 million units of energy annually and will reduce 20,10,941 tonnes of carbon emissions per year. Apart from the chairperson, several other top SJVN officials were present in the ceremony.
