Hamirpur, June 6

A one-day delay in the shifting of a patient to a Covid care centre led to panic in Bhadrun village of the Nadaun subdivision today.

The patient was tested positive for Covid yesterday. She, along with her husband and children, had reportedly arrived in the village from Ghaziabad on May 28 and was under home quarantine. Her husband said they came to know she was Covid positive after the report emerged in the media last night. “We would have been extra careful had we been informed by the administration on time,” he said.

He further said the test report of other family members was yet to be received. “The sample of our two-and-a-half-year-old daughter has not been taken till now,” he said.

Harikesh Meena, DM, said the family came to Ghaziabad and was under home quarantine. He said an inquiry would be initiated to ascertain why she was not shifted to the nearest Covid care centre when her report came.

Archana Soni, Chief Medical Officer, said a rapid response team reached out to the patient yesterday at 8 pm, but since she was under the surveillance of the health authorities, the team preferred to shift her after the second report. — OC
