Dharamsala, September 18

The pradhans and vice-pradhans of various panchayats of Dharamsala block in Kangra district today held a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and threatened to resign from their posts.

The elected representatives, who belong to both BJP and Congress, were demanding that a panchayat secretary, who was related to an office-bearer of the BJP, should be transferred out of Dharamsala block.

They said that they had protested against the panchayat secretary earlier also. Following their complaint, he was posted in the DRDA office. However, just after a month, he was again being posted at the earlier place.

“We have complained even to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur against the panchayat secretary. If he is not shifted out of Dharamsala block, we will all submit our resignations,” they said.
