No respite, 21 new cases in Solan

15 primary contacts

  •  As many as 15 of the 21 infected persons in Solan were the primary contacts of two positive cases of industrial workers from Wrigley India at Baddi.

  • A 44-year-old employee of Sara Textile, his 30-year-old wife and their two sons aged 10 and 14 years from Adarsh Colony at Dattowal village in Nalagarh were also found infected.

There seems to be no let-up in Covid cases with 30 persons contracting coronavirus today, taking the tally to 1,243.

The highest number of 21 cases were reported from Solan. Four cases were reported from Hamirpur, followed by three cases in Kangra and one case each in Mandi and Shimla.

The 21 fresh Covid cases in Solan on Monday took the tally of infected persons in the district to 208.

Medical Officer (Health), Solan, Dr NK Gupta said 15 persons were the primary contacts of two positive cases of industrial workers from Wrigley India at Baddi.

Besides, an 11-year-old boy and his 23-year-old sister from Billanwali village at Baddi also tested positive. Their father was found infected on July 8. He is an employee of Wrigley India.

Other patients are in the 23-54 age group. They will be kept in the same hotels where they were in quarantine.
