No let-up, 31 cases take count to 806 in Himachal

With 31 new Covid cases today, the total number of cases rose to 806, including six deaths, in the state.

The highest number of 16 cases were reported from Hamirpur, four from Chamba, three each from Kangra, Una and Solan, and one each from Shimla and Bilaspur. The highest number of 221 corona cases has so far been reported from Hamirpur, followed by 211 in Kangra and 99 in Una. All patients have returned from Delhi.

3 cases in Baddi

Three new Covid cases were detected in Baddi today, taking the tally in Solan district to 84. Dr NK Gupta said of the three persons, two are women who were in a quarantine centre at Solan.

They had returned from Delhi. They had been shifted to the Nauni Covid Care Centre.

The third patient is a teenager from Baddi and he has been shifted to labour hostel, Baddi. Besides, one patient was shifted to the IGMC-Shimla from the ESI-Katha last night.

Four infected in Chamba

Four of a family from Banet village in the Chowari area of Chamba district, who had returned from Delhi today, tested Covid positive.

Those infected are a 45-year-old man, his wife and their two children. Dr Rajesh Guleri, CMO, said all were in institutional quarantine at Kakira and had now been shifted to a Covid containment centre. The total number of infection cases in Chamba has risen to 50.

3 catch virus in Kangra

Three more persons, who had returned from Delhi on June 15 and 17, tested Covid positive in Kangra district. They were in institutional quarantine.

They include a 32-year-old IT engineer and 19-year-old student from Kural village.

With this, the total number cases in the district has gone up to 211.
