Nine MBBS students suspended for ragging in Nahan Medical College

Nine MBBS students of Nahan Medical College have been suspended for 45 days and a fine of Rs 50,000 each has been imposed on them in a ragging case. The college management has taken action after investigating the matter. No such case has ever come to light in the college since its inception in 2016.

Principal of Medical College Dr Rajiv Tuli said that nine students of the 2022 batch were found guilty of ragging junior students of the 2023 batch in the hall of the Anatomy Department on March 4. They also used an abusive language with the junior students. The Student Welfare Advisory Committee investigated the matter and found the nine students guilt of ragging.

After this the Anti Ragging Committee considered its report and suspended these 9 students from classes for 45 days. Besides, a fine has also been imposed. According to the decision taken by the committee, now these students will not be allowed to participate in any sports or literary function for a period of one year.
