Shimla, September 14
Education Minister Gobind Thakur has said the New Education Policy (NEP) will help achieve sustainable development goals. He said the policy would focus on inclusive and equitable quality education.
Presiding over the first meeting of the taskforce constituted for the implementation of the NEP yesterday, he said the new policy would be rooted in India’s traditions and value system. “Interests of teachers will be safeguarded in the policy,” said Thakur.
“The state Cabinet has approved the NEP and 75 lakh people have high hopes from it. We have a daunting task at hand, as the implementation of the policy will script the future of the youth and the country. The policy proposes to revise and revamp all aspects of the education system to meet development goals,” he said. — TNS
