Solan: On a complaint filed by Santosh Kumar, the Baddi police registered a case of cheating. Kumar was allegedly duped by a trading company based in Maharashtra. Kumar said he had registered with a trading company named Apex Group. The company invested in initial public offers and his phone number was registered for trading. He invested Rs 67.3 lakh through various accounts in this group. TNS

Sharma appointed HPPSC member

Shimla: The state government today appointed Dev Raj Sharma as a member of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC). Sharma had retired as the IG of Indian Coast Guard. The appointment was made for a period of six years or till he attains the age of 62 years, whichever is earlier.
