Mahila Morcha given masks, ration during curfew in Himachal: Jai Ram Thakur

Shimla, June 22

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur addressed a virtual rally of the BJP Mahila Morcha from Shimla today. He said the state government was committed towards the welfare and empowerment of women in the state and several schemes had been launched for the economic uplift and social empowerment of women.

The state Mahila Morcha had done a commendable work in preparing and distributing face masks and shields to people. The Morcha had also played a key role in providing ration and cooked food to the needy during the curfew, he stated.

Thakur said the decision of lockdown had helped in checking the spread of Covid and in a population of 135 crore in India, over 13,000 deaths had been reported, which was less than the deaths in developed nations.
