Kullu temple priest held with charas

The police seized 11.8 kg charas from a temple priest in Kullu district and arrested him under the NDPS Act today.

SP Gaurav Singh said on a tip-off, the police carried out a raid and arrested the temple priest Bewa Ram of Viyogi village in Banjar and seized 11.8 kg charas from his possession. The SP said investigation was under way and the accused would be produced before a court to seek police remand.

In another case, the police arrested a Nepalese with 1.8 kg charas in Mandi district. Accused Aasman was travelling in a Haryana Roadways bus from Mandi to Kullu. During checking, the police recovered the contraband and arrested the accused.
