Rural Development Minister Virender Kanwar today formally launched the ‘Him Suraksha’ campaign at the district headquarters.
Under the drive, health workers will go door-to-door to screen people for the symptoms of Covid, tuberculosis, leprosy, hypertension and diabetes.
Kanwar urged people to cooperate with the health workers and provide them accurate information.
He said the information would be entered in a mobile application and in case of any doubt, the patient would be followed up for proper sampling and testing, besides free treatment.
Kanwar blames the surge in Covid cases to people lowering their guard during the festival season.
The minister said the fine for not wearing a mask in public places had been increased to Rs 1,000. The gathering at functions had also been restricted to 100.
The organisers of the events would have to ensure the Covid testing of their cooks and catering employees.
He said the government had directed the Health Department to provide oxymeters to patients in home isolation.
Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma said the present capacity of 70 beds for corona patients was being enhanced to 90 beds in the district.
A 40-bed dedicated Covid centre would soon be set up at Palkwah village of Haroli subdivision.
The centre would have 20 ICU beds with piped oxygen supply.
Later, Kanwar flagged off a ‘Him Care’ campaign vehicle. HPSIDC vice-chairman Ram Kumar was also present.
